Oh my goodness it's been so long!

I can't believe how long it's been since I've been on dA. Almost a year? Most of my most recent activity seems to have taken place in February. It feels longer than that...
Back in March I moved out on my own and any sort of artwork has been put on the back burner. I only just drew for the first time in months earlier today, and I'm really regretting giving my little sister all of my colored pencils and my Wacom.
Drawing fanart again makes me miss the days where I'd come home from high school (I can't believe I graduated almost four years ago!) and just go sit in my room and draw Sailor Phoenix all night, trying to come up with different ideas for her story, coming up with tons of different teams of senshi for her, none of which seemed quite right.
Though today was a drawing of my Naruto fan character. I don't have her totally developed, and I have no way of uploading hand-drawn artwork right now, so unfortunately I can't share the picture with you right now. What I do have is, admittedly, a little Mary Sue-like. But I've always believed that it's best to create the fan character that makes you feel like creating them and writing about them. After all, fan characters are purely to further enjoy the world that someone has created by combining it with your imagination. I don't create fan fiction or fan art for anyone except myself. I create characters and, admittedly, I like to put bits and pieces of myself into them, for my satisfaction. It allows me to live in a world that doesn't exist and truly immerse myself in that world. Some people hate when fan characters have any sort of significant interaction with canon characters, because it breaks canon. But isn't that the beauty of fandom? You can expand on a world you love in your own imagination. It isn't harming anything. I'm all for learning to develop interesting characters who overcome great challenges and being creative and unique. But there's no harm in creating a cliche character just for the fun of it, either!
So let me tell you what I do have about Uchiha Hitomi.
Hitomi was adopted into the Hinote clan, unaware for most of her childhood that she is truly an Uchiha. While she was still an infant, the Uchiha were just beginning to talk about the idea of a coup. Knowing this would lead to a civil war and wanting to keep their child out of harm's way, her parents arranged for a couple in the Hinote clan to quietly adopt her, and raise her safely away from the Uchiha clan. Her biological parents were killed during the massacre. However, the massacre had little effect on Hitomi, since she had always known herself to be from the Hinote clan. Her life was fairly normal from that point; she graduated from the academy with good grades, although they weren't stellar, and particularly excelled in ninjutsu while her taijutsu fell short. Her chakra control was above average, though not quite up to par to set her on a path towards medical ninjutsu. When she was thirteen, however, everything changed. Hitomi was out for a walk with her biological sister (only a year younger than her, Miyuki was also adopted into the Hinote clan) when they were ambushed by ninja from a small neighboring village. Kayumi was kidnapped and while Hitomi was fighting to get her back, a slash of chakra went into Miyuki's head and severed the nerves connecting her eyes to her brain. Thinking her sister had been killed, Hitomi's Sharingan was awakened, and she was able to defeat the ninja and get her sister back, but her sister's eyesight was permanently destroyed.
That's all I have for her history for now, so here are some stats! As a note, I'm using the same scale as found in the data books!

Three Options

I'm so torn. I have three different directions my fan fiction can go, and all three are interesting in their own ways (note this isn't one I'm posting, just one to write for fun). Each path requires the main character to make a large decision: the first choice is the long-desired love. The second choice is the forbidden love. The third choice is betrayal and reuniting family. I have a chapter written for each of them, but I still can't decide white route to take. Decisions, decisions!!!

So, just a few things to go over!

* I just realized I broke 10,000 views! Yay!!!
* I have made the decision to stop referencing artwork. I have been using stock photos from
instead of artwork. The only exception I've decided to make is studying Naoko Takeuchi's artwork - I love her style to death, and would like to develop a similar style. But I do need to develop my own style, which is why I'm done referencing!
* I recently bought myself a sketchbook and 16 Prismacolor colored pencils, along with a few other various supplies. Since I bought these supplies, I have noticed a significant increase in how often I draw.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Recent Works ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
* I haven't posted any of my work recently, because I haven't had access to a scanner and my camera is missing. However, I plan on searching for it either later tonight or tomorrow and will be posting some of the sketches I have done.

* Coloring a random otaku senshi: Sailor Chibi Neptune, Kaio Enkai. I'm working up scenarios in my head that would allow for Michiru to become pregnant, don't have anything set yet though.
